Inaugurated on December 2, 2025, by His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, the Ruler of Sharjah, it now features a new landmark. The place has also been redesigned to make it easier to navigate and safer for everyone who visits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The centerpiece of the square is the striking <strong>34-meter-high Independence Monument<\/strong>. At the top of the monument is a seven-pointed star, representing the seven emirates of the UAE. Around the monument, you\u2019ll notice <strong>two new fountains<\/strong> <strong>and pedestrian pathways<\/strong> inviting to take a leisurely stroll.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"826\" height=\"413\" src=\"https:\/\/platinumlist.ceo\/guide\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/bc7fb339-3fb7-43ec-b9dd-2f62a336c557.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-47865\" srcset=\"https:\/\/platinumlist.ceo\/guide\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/bc7fb339-3fb7-43ec-b9dd-2f62a336c557.jpg 826w, https:\/\/platinumlist.ceo\/guide\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/bc7fb339-3fb7-43ec-b9dd-2f62a336c557-300x150.jpg 300w, https:\/\/platinumlist.ceo\/guide\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/bc7fb339-3fb7-43ec-b9dd-2f62a336c557-768x384.jpg 768w, https:\/\/platinumlist.ceo\/guide\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/bc7fb339-3fb7-43ec-b9dd-2f62a336c557-150x75.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 826px) 100vw, 826px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>24 buildings surrounding the square have also been renovated<\/strong> with new exterior designs that reflect Sharjah\u2019s distinctive architectural style, giving the area a more modern feel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the most notable upgrades is <strong>Imam Al Nawawi Mosque, which has been restored in the Fatimid architectural style<\/strong>.
