21grams, the much-loved homegrown Balkan bistro in Umm Suqeim, is expanding its footprint with two new concepts set to open at Alserkal Avenue<\/strong>. Known for its soulfood, understated setting, and consistent recognition on the Michelin Bib Gourmand list (2025 marked the third year in a row), 21grams continues to draw in regulars for breakfast, lunch, or a casual dinner.<\/p>\n

Now, the brand is opening\u00a0Piehaus<\/strong>, a specialty Balkan pie shop and caf\u00e9<\/strong>. While details are still limited, the focus will be on the kind of pies that are often the heart of Balkan cuisine \u2014 think flaky phyllo dough wrapped around savoury fillings like cheese, spinach, or potato, and occasionally sweet versions layered with pumpkin, apples, or cherries.<\/p>\n
