The initiative, confirmed by the Dubai Government Human Resources Department (DGHR), will run <strong>from July 1 to September 12, 2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"433\" data-end=\"546\">The flexible work model follows the <strong>official five-day workweek<\/strong> and divides employees into two working groups:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"550\" data-end=\"642\">Group 1 works eight hours from Monday to Thursday, with Fridays off completely.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"645\" data-end=\"728\">Group 2 works seven hours Monday to Thursday, and 4.5 hours on Friday.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"730\" data-end=\"825\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-24542\" src=\"https:\/\/platinumlist.ceo\/guide\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/shutterstock_2344735077.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1000\" height=\"500\" srcset=\"https:\/\/platinumlist.ceo\/guide\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/shutterstock_2344735077.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/platinumlist.ceo\/guide\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/shutterstock_2344735077-300x150.jpg 300w, https:\/\/platinumlist.ceo\/guide\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/shutterstock_2344735077-768x384.jpg 768w, https:\/\/platinumlist.ceo\/guide\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/shutterstock_2344735077-150x75.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1225\" data-end=\"1462\">For many government employees in Dubai, weekends already include a half-day Friday and full days off on Saturday and Sunday. With this updated model, those in Group 1 will now enjoy a full three-day weekend throughout the summer.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1529\" data-end=\"1959\">The UAE has also reinstated the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/platinumlist.ceo\/guide\/uae-announces-outdoor-work-ban-from-june-15-to-september-15\/\">midday break policy to protect outdoor workers<\/a> from the summer heat<\/strong>. Starting June 15 until September 15, labour under direct sunlight is prohibited from 12:30 PM to 3 PM daily.
