Spanning 13 kilometres in total, the expansion is aimed at reducing traffic congestion and making public transport more efficient.<\/p>\n<p>These <strong>new lanes will appear on some of Dubai\u2019s busiest roads<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah Street<\/li>\n<li>Omar bin Al Khattab Street<\/li>\n<li>2nd of December Street<\/li>\n<li>Al Nahda Street<\/li>\n<li>Al Satwa Street<\/li>\n<li>Naif Street<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-33568\" src=\"https:\/\/platinumlist.ceo\/guide\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/shutterstock_1285988551.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1000\" height=\"500\" srcset=\"https:\/\/platinumlist.ceo\/guide\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/shutterstock_1285988551.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/platinumlist.ceo\/guide\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/shutterstock_1285988551-300x150.jpg 300w, https:\/\/platinumlist.ceo\/guide\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/shutterstock_1285988551-768x384.jpg 768w, https:\/\/platinumlist.ceo\/guide\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/shutterstock_1285988551-150x75.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Once completed, the total length of dedicated lanes for buses and taxis in Dubai will reach 20 km.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>According to the RTA, the <strong>initiative is expected to cut travel times by 41% and improve bus arrival punctuality by 42%<\/strong>. Mattar Al Tayer, Director-General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of the RTA, explained that these changes are part of a broader strategy to encourage public transport use and ease overall congestion on Dubai\u2019s roads.<\/p>\n<p>To help prevent private vehicle misuse, the <strong>lanes will be marked with a distinctive red colour<\/strong>. The city now covers nearly 90% of its urban area through a fleet of 1,390 buses.
