The long-awaited Zayed National Museum<\/strong> is finally set to open on December 3, 2025<\/strong>, offering visitors a unique opportunity to explore the deep roots and rich heritage of the UAE. Designed to celebrate the legacy of the country\u2019s founding father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the museum will bring together history, art, archaeology, and national identity under one roof.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Visitors will begin their experience at the Masar Garden, a 600-metre stretch filled with native Emirati plants<\/strong>. Interactive features make the garden an engaging introduction to traditional life, including the ancient Falaj irrigation system that dates back 5,000 years. A series of 12 animal-inspired sculptures are also on display throughout the garden, offering a nod to the region\u2019s natural history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Set across two floors<\/strong>, the museum will feature six permanent galleries<\/strong> and a space for temporary exhibitions, covering over 300,000 years of human history. The collection includes artefacts from across the UAE<\/strong>, many of which were donated by individuals and institutions, along with key pieces on domestic and international loan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the museum\u2019s headline attractions is the full-scale reconstruction of a Magan Boat from the Bronze Age<\/strong>. Built using traditional materials like reeds and palm-fibre rope, this 18-metre exhibit highlights the UAE\u2019s long seafaring legacy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among the standout items is the Abu Dhabi Pearl<\/strong>, thought to be one of the<\/strong> oldest natural pearls ever discovered<\/strong>, providing new context to the region\u2019s pearling legacy. Visitors will also see The Blue Quran<\/strong>, considered one of the most significant pieces in Islamic manuscript art.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Inclusivity is also central to the museum\u2019s design. Spaces have been created with accessibility in mind, ensuring visitors of all ages and abilities, including people of determination and the elderly, can engage with the exhibits comfortably and independently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
