We’ve seen this only in the movies, but now you can become the main character of a futuristic scene in the UAE capital. Abu Dhabi has just launched a self-driving taxi service on Yas Island, and it’s as cool as it sounds.
Thanks to Baidu’s Apollo Go and K2’s Auto Go, you can now catch a ride in a fully autonomous vehicle. Here’s how to book it:
- Download the AutoGo app
- Select a pick-up spot on Yas Island
- A robotaxi will arrive to take you where you need to go

The service is available on Yas Island only, with plans to expand to other parts of the capital, including Reem, Al Maryah, and Saadiyat Islands.
