If you’ve ever tried to get a seat at Lost in Tokyo during its Marsa Boulevard run, you already know how hard it was to get in. A permanent address should finally open the door to more people. After building a following through its pop-up and supper club format, the brand is now preparing to open a restaurant at First Avenue Mall.
The concept hasn’t changed; it’s simply getting a permanent home in Jumeirah, inviting more people to experience it. The new space is based on the same idea: a calm setting, close interaction, and focus on the craft.
Entry to Lost in Tokyo will also begin through traditional Japanese curtains, with a small garden at the entrance before you step inside. Seating stays at the counter, where a team of four chefs prepares each course in front of you.
The menu centres on Edomae-style sushi, a traditional Tokyo approach built on precision and ingredient quality. Expect clean, balanced flavours rather than heavy sauces or elaborate rolls, with each piece shaped by technique rather than presentation.
Lost in Tokyo’s arrival at First Avenue Mall marks a new chapter for the concept in Dubai. If the pop-up was any indication, reservations are likely to fill up weeks ahead.
If you’re into Japanese dining, TakaHisa is another spot to check out. It’s now open in Downtown Dubai with incredible city views.
