As the Holy Month of Ramadan approaches, Expo City Dubai is preparing for the much-anticipated return of Hai Ramadan, running from 22 February till 18 March. Following the spirit of Al Wasl Season’s “One Destination, Every Celebration,” it brings a vibrant celebration of culture, tradition, and community. The event promises a rich mix of festivities, culinary experiences, and family-friendly activities that truly capture the spirit and atmosphere of Ramadan.
Here’s what you can expect during this month-long celebration at Expo City.
Iftar Cannon
One of the highlights of Hai Ramadan is the Iftar Cannon. Originating from Egypt and now a cherished tradition in various Muslim countries, the cannon fires a single shot at sunset, signaling the beginning of Iftar. Visitors to Expo City Dubai will have the unique opportunity to witness this ancient tradition, adding a touch of historical charm to the modern celebration.
For those seeking a place of prayer, a dedicated mosque in the Sustainability District will be available for all prayers, including Isha, Tarweeh, and Tahajjud.

Iftar Experiences For All
Ramadan wouldn’t be complete without breaking the fast and sharing a meal with the community. During the month, Expo City will offer two Iftar experiences for visitors:
- Iftar Al Souk: A lively, Emirati-inspired, free-flowing food market experience where guests move between traditional food carts and live stations (AED 150, fully redeemable on food and drinks, free for kids under 3.)
- Iftar Al Majlis: A premium seated Iftar under Al Wasl Dome featuring an international buffet, table service, and live traditional music (AED 285 for adults, and AED 185 for children age 4–11).

Cultural Exploration at the Lively Souk
Activities include a Kids’ Sports Arena, PlayStation Zone, and Heritage & Fun experiences, where visitors can enjoy traditional Emirati games, storytelling sessions, and daily live orchestral performances under Al Wasl Dome.
The Ramadan Market brings together artisan stalls, handmade crafts, traditional garments, Ramadan-themed gifts, and professional henna artistry, creating a vibrant space to shop, explore, and soak in the seasonal atmosphere.
Visitors can also take part in a variety of creative, hands-on workshops designed for all ages, perfect for those looking to learn a new craft or try something new during the season.
Entry to Hai Ramadan is free for those with Iftar bookings. Tickets are now available on Platinumlist.
